iplicit helps housing associations as they face digital transformation

iplicit has been showing housing associations how its award-winning software can help at a time when many are looking at a major upgrade of their business systems.

The company was at the recent Housing Finance Conference & Exhibition in Liverpool to introduce its cloud accounting system to the sector.

A number of the major housing management systems (HMS) are also coming to the end of life – prompting housing associations to review their core systems including finance and how they work together.

Paul Sparkes, Commercial Director at iplicit, says: “We already have some substantial housing associations among our customers and we had an incredible response to iplicit at the recent Housing Finance Conference & Exhibition.

“Many of the housing associations we spoke to are having to review all their software because their HMS products won’t be supported any more. Others are struggling with multiple incompatible HMS or finance systems because they have grown through mergers and acquisitions.

“We found a lot of housing associations regard this as an opportunity for digital transformation. They’re ready to do away with many hours of time-consuming manual work and reap the benefits of full integration between HMS products and the finance software.”

iplicit has grown by triple-digit percentages, in user numbers and revenue, since its launch in 2019. It was recently named the 18th UK business on the FT1000 list of Europe’s fastest-growing companies, published by the Financial Times.

A large part of this growth was fuelled by its reputation among non-profit organisations seeking to reduce complexity and improve reporting.

Many of the features which attracted to its existing non-profit customers make iplicit ideal for housing associations.

Those include:

  • Automation of time-consuming finance functions, from bank reconciliation to intercompany transactions
  • Powerful fixed asset tools, allowing customers to apply depreciation automatically as well as to report on asset transactions and balances
  • An unlimited number of accounting dimensions, making for easy visibility over projects and fund spending
  • Easy group consolidation and intercompany adjustments
  • Easy application of partial VAT
  • Smooth processes for approving expenses and spending from any online device
  • Flexible and powerful reporting, putting timely and accurate data into the hands of decision makers
  • An open API (application programming interface) to allow for easy integration with other business systems.

Paul Sparkes says:
“Our non-profit and business customers have typically saved many hours – often running into days – each month by embracing a powerful cloud software system.  iplicit has done away with many laborious accounting tasks and removed the need to devote endless hours to manipulating data in spreadsheets.

“Housing associations, who face a raft of challenges, have quickly seen the potential for the software to transform their work and make their own finance teams more efficient.”
